When I bought the F180 I had very specific criteria in mind. - lightweight, easy to tow, launch and recover. - fun, easy to sail ... not complex and difficult to rig and control. - offering high performance and be capable of winning club racing. However it still needed to be a boat that an inexperienced family and friends would enjoy sailing. The F180 18 foot sportsboat from Fluid Yachts in Knynsa ticked all these boxes and offered much more than comparative boats The F180 can be sailed in the open sea, as well as lagoons or dams with shallower water. She handles like a dinghy, but has the stability of a keel boat. The swing keel means the boat can be easily beached. A spacious cockpit with room for 3-4 people and a lockable cabin area to stow equipment (and a couple of bunk cushions). Being lightweight, a 2hp outboard is all that's needed to propel the boat.
